President's Message

It is a privilege for me to once again serve as your President and I look forward to working with our Board of Directors in meeting the needs and goals of all ISCA members.

As we all know, the construction industry has its ups and downs and our sector is no different. Over the past number of years we have had times of fast growth and occasionally we were forced to deal with slower growth. This is the natural way that our business fluctuates. However, even during hard times ISCA contractors thrive. Why? Maybe it is because we have a great relationship with our two unions, The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, and the General Contractors and the Builders that we perform the work for. We all realize that our market is very fragile and it must be treated with respect and we must work very diligently to keep it that way.

Our association offers free of charge Health and Safety Training, Computer Estimating, Foreman Upgrade Training Programs and a WSIB Safety Group. All of these programs are helping our contractors to run their businesses more competitively and effectively, which means more profitably. Profit is not a dirty word. We work hard and are deserving of a fair return on our investment.

Our new facility is 90,000 square feet of which 85,000 square feet is for training our future workforce in Drywall Application, Drywall Finishing and (EIFS) Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems, Spray Fireproofing, and Hazardous Materials Workers.

I am proud to be the President of our Association which has been one of the leading associations in the country and is well positioned to continue and improve on that fine record.

If you are looking for a union contractor please click on members and you will find the best contractors available whom I am sure will exceed your expectations.
